This is a museum replica of the Fly symbol necklace, originated in the 18th Dynasty, from the burial of Queen Ah-hotpe, Western Thebes. Original image on left.
The gold Fly was a honorary award given to the Egyptian military for persistence in attacking the enemy.
24 Karat gold-plate over pewter. 18” Gold-plate chain. Each fly measures approximately 1" x 1.5".
