Egyptian Sakhmet brooch

     Adapted from a pendant of solid gold in the figure of Sakhmet, the lioness-headed goddess of medicine and healing.
     Dynasty 26. Reign of Amasis (570-526 BCE).

     24K gold-plate over pewter.   Sakhmet measures approximately 1.6" x 1.25".
