Griffin Architectural detail brooch

       The griffin is a mythical creature having the body of a lion, the head and wings of an eagle, and back covered with feathers.  The combination of eagle and lion makes the griffin a powerful symbol of vigilance and strength.  The use of the griffin in architecture is decorative and symbolic.  The inspired image on left.

       24 Karat gold plate over pewter.  Measures approximately 0.6" x 0.5".
