Greek entwined Snake design brooch

Our brooch was inspired by the details of the Greek bracelet on left.

A symbol of the dual creative forces (good and evil) within the world of forms. When twined around a staff, the two snakes form the caduceus, a symbol of the messenger of the gods, Hermes. In Greek mythology, the caduceus was found when Hermes used the staff to separate two serpents locked in combat, and thus came to symbolize peace.

24 Karat gold-plate over pewter. Measures approximately 1.25” x 2”.
