The early blooming Lily-of-the-Valley was widely esteemed in Imperial Russia for it served as a beautifully scented harbinger of spring, after the long Russian winter (original image on left). The blossom was also associated with conjugal bliss and domestic harmony, making it one of Fabergé’s best-selling flowers. Original image on left.
