Monet's "Venetian Windows" brooch

This Venetian Window pin was inspired by series of eight Venetian Palace paintings, particularly the gemstone encrusted facades of the Palazzi.  Original image on left.

Monet’s goal was to create a pictorial image that would be as rich as the facades were in stone and suggest the richness if his Mediterranean views.

Enameled 24k gold-plate over pewter.  Measures approximately 1.2" x 1.1".
