Inspired by the Bee motif embroidered on the canopy of Napoléon 1st's Throne, Jean-François Garneray (1755-1837): Napoléon 1er Empereur des Français, Roi d'Italie. c. 1805.
The Bee - symbol of immortality and resurrection, was considered the oldest emblem of the sovereigns of France.
24 Karat gold-plate over pewter. Measures approximately 0.6" x 0.7".
