Spiral Earrings

       Adapted from ear spools worn by the Inca Kings in a mid-18th century.
        During the Colonial period, members of the native nobility prized portrait of the Inca as evidence of their aristocratic forebears
       Large ear ornaments had been worn by Peruvian men even prior to the Inca to indicate high social status.
       Hammered texture with a spiral circular design. 24k gold plate over pewter. Sterling silver posts. Each earring measures approximately 1.25" x 1".
