Two Fantasy Blossom brooch

Adapted from a Fabergé gold agate, nephrite and jasper floral group in the Matilda Geddings Gray Foundation Collection, New Orleans (original image on left). The blossoms here are product of Fabergé’s imagination, borrowing elements of several Spring flowers and melding them into an attractive blossom. Flowers were important in traditional Russia since they symbolized the return of Spring and reawakening of the earth after the deep Russian winter.

Enameled 24 Karat gold-plate over pewter. Measures approximately 1.5" x 1.25".
